PAINTINGS RESTORATION

OPERE PITTORICHE

PAINTINGS ON CANVAS

For works painted on canvas we offer various interventions that depend on the damage and composition of the work. Starting with a superficial cleaning, you can then operate on the canvas and the support of the work. It is also possible to protect the painted film and stop the colour to restore the work to its original splendour

PAINTINGS ON PAPER

For these works the same type of intervention is carried out, but with different chemical solutions compared to the works on canvas. Particularly suitable for works on paper are the compensation and/or recomposition of cuts and lacerations present on the work when the cut is not very deep. Otherwise a more invasive intervention is necessary to make and apply inserts with paper pulp or Japanese paper in the missing areas.

SCULTURE

STONE SCULTPURES

Stone has been for many years, especially for modern works, the favourite material of artists. Today it is used less, but all the more reason it is necessary to take care of the stone works of a collection also because they are often exposed outdoors, they are the most subjected to the climate change

METAL SCULTPURES

For metal works, attention must be paid to some preliminary interventions that are related to their location. For example, if it is necessary to disassemble the packaging and, if necessary, create a temporary support to restore the work.
It is also necessary to be familiar with the chemical composition of the metal before carrying out any restoration work

CERAMIC

Restoration work on ceramic works covers a wide range of finds or entire floors or decorative boards. In fact, all types of ceramic material fall into this category: works in clay, terracotta, porcelain and majolica. These are the most fragile and delicate interventions because often the works are totally or partially shattered.

CONTEMPORARY ART

The restoration of contemporary art is a field still in continuous experimentation. The materials used to create works of art are various and heterogeneous: organic, synthetic, recycled or made by the artist himself. Often new media such as videos, photographs or digital processing tools are used, without excluding performances.

Photography

FOTOGRAFIA

Photography

Preserving photographic images is a recent subject that has been taken into consideration only in recent decades, especially in Italy. The initial approach is to identify the type of material and chemical components with which the photograph was printed and then carry out the intervention.
